NEW YORK — A doorman made a grisly discovery when he entered a tenant’s apartment and found the man beheaded, along with his cat and pet bird, police said. The tenant’s son was later charged with murder.
Mohammed Bayat’s mutilated torso was found in his Manhattan apartment early Friday, police said. Police spokesman Sgt. Anthony Barlanti said the doorman saw Bayat’s son, Hamid Raza (Anthony) Bayat, 19, throw bloody knives to the ground as he left the building.
