Al Toon, second in New York Jets’ history in pass receptions and third in yardage, is retiring because of post-concussion syndrome. Toon suffered the fifth concussion of his career nearly three weeks ago.
With 517 receptions, Toon ranks second to Jet Hall of Famer Don Maynard’s 627. Toon, the Jets’ top draft pick in 1985, accumulated 6,605 yards in eight seasons to rank behind Maynard and Wesley Walker.
