After 4 Weeks of Gloom, Chicago Awaits the Sun
CHICAGO — There’s hope for many Chicagoans who are wondering if they will ever see the sun again.
The last sunny day recorded here was Oct. 28. That was just three days after the return of Central Standard Time pushed sunsets up an hour.
“Everybody’s hysterical to get out of town,” said Susan Lambert, a travel agent. “They’re wanting to leave now --anywhere, really, anywhere sunny.”
But Chicagoans can stay home and save their money. National Weather Service forecaster John Taylor said Thursday that the gloom is almost over.
“We will see some sunshine by (this afternoon),” he said. “Saturday we’re finally going to get a break with a bright sunny day.”
