If Thanksgiving is over, Christmas can’t be...
If Thanksgiving is over, Christmas can’t be far behind. And what better way to get the children into the spirit of the season than a visit with Santa Claus, who is making one of his first appearances of the year today at Ports O’ Call Village in San Pedro.
Event organizers say Santa will arrive promptly at 1 p.m., so plan to get there early to watch for his entrance on a fire truck, complete with bell and siren. Children will receive a gift when they visit with Santa, and they may have their picture taken with him as well.
If you want to make an afternoon of it, take in the nearby Fun Zone. It features a Ferris wheel and ladybug ride, in addition to other attractions.
As they do every year, Ports O’ Call merchants are decorating the village area in themes of the Christmas season. Parking is free, and visitors can ride the new electric San Pedro trolley from Ports O’ Call Village to downtown San Pedro and the Cabrillo Marine Museum. During this month and December, trolley rides will be free.
