Coming Soon: Paramount will release the Eddie Murphy comedy “Boomerang” on Dec. 22. Due from MCA/Universal on Jan. 27 is a new version of the 1983 Al Pacino drama “Scarface.” Columbia TriStar plans to re-price two classics--”From Here to Eternity” and “On the Waterfront”--at $25 for mid-January release.

Older Titles Just Released: “Dark Passage” (MGM/UA, 1947, $40): Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart, with Bogie playing an escaped convict whose face is altered by plastic surgery. “Dr. No,” “From Russia With Love,” “Goldfinger” (MGM/UA, $70): Letterboxed versions of the best of the ‘60s James Bonds, starring Sean Connery. “The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner” (Warner, 1962, $35): Arguably the best of Britain’s early ‘60s, socially conscious movies, with Tom Courtenay as a rebellious reform school inmate. “Ninotchka” (MGM/UA, 1939, $35): Ernst Lubitsch directing Greta Garbo in her first romantic comedy, the tale of an icy Soviet official (Garbo) thawed out in Paris by a suave Frenchman (Melvyn Douglas). “Little Women” (MGM/UA, 1949, $40): A glossy version of Louisa May Alcott’s romantic novel featuring June Allyson, Janet Leigh, Margaret O’Brien and Elizabeth Taylor.
