Hughes Names Vice President

Richard E. Clapp has been named staff vice president and chief contracts officer of Hughes Aircraft Co., Los Angeles.
Clapp, 54, succeeds Donald L. Cassidy, who is retiring at the end of the month.
Clapp was previously group vice president and director of contracts for Hughes Missile Systems.
Cassidy, 59, was appointed staff vice president and chief contracts officer in 1987 and has been a corporate vice president since 1990, with responsibility for all contracting functions.
