Chalco to Make Parts for Barry Controls
Chalco Industries Inc. in Chatsworth said it has signed an agreement under which it will manufacture components for Barry Controls in Burbank. The pact is expected to provide Chalco with about $3 million in annual revenue.
Chalco--which does business under the name Dunlap, Abbott, Chalco--makes hydraulic equipment for the aerospace and defense markets, while Barry makes couplings and related components that dissipate vibrations in aircraft and other equipment.
Under the agreement, which has a primary term of 3 1/2 years, Chalco will effectively become Barry’s machine shop and produce metal parts that Barry merges with polymers and other substances to produce its finished goods, said John Vinke, Chalco’s vice president of finance.
