Westlake to Play in Football Benefit
Westlake High will represent the Marmonte League in a benefit football game against the champion of Hawaii’s Kauai Interscholastic Federation on Nov. 28 at 1 p.m. at Thousand Oaks High. The game originally was set for Nov. 27.
Westlake was selected by a vote of principals at Westlake, Agoura, Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks, according to Mel Hayashi, longtime team doctor for Newbury Park and the game’s chief organizer.
Waimea and Kauai highs will play Saturday for the KIF championship, and the winner will play Westlake.
The game is being arranged to help with recovery efforts in the wake of Hurricane Iniki.
