COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : USC : Sprained Ankle to Keep Boselli Out of Action
Coach Larry Smith said that tackle Tony Boselli, the Trojans’ top offensive lineman, will sit out Saturday’s game against UCLA at the Rose Bowl because of a sprained ankle.
Smith added that Boselli’s injury, similar to the one that has kept tailback Deon Strother out of all but three games this season, might also keep Boselli out of the Trojans’ season finale against Notre Dame on Nov. 28 at the Coliseum.

Difficult to believe: Among Pacific 10 Conference teams, only Oregon State, which has given up an average of 414.6 yards, has yielded more yards per game than USC, which has given up an average of 320.3. . . . Curtis Conway was limited to a season-low 72 all-purpose yards during last Saturday’s 14-7 victory over Arizona, but returned two punts for 35 yards against a team that had given up only 37 yards in punt returns all season. Conway has caught a pass in 20 consecutive games.
