Coca-Cola Closes Bottling Plant: Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of New York has closed its plant in Paterson, N.J., as part of a company streamlining, affecting 141 workers. The company said the 46-year-old plant was closed as part of “corporate consolidation strategy.” The company said it would offer 60 employees alternative jobs in the metropolitan New York area and a “generous severance package” to other affected employees. Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of New York has invested millions to modernize a bottling plant in Elmsford, N.Y., and make improvements at a bottling facility in Maspeth, N.Y.
