All-City Middle Blocker to Attend Northridge

Brian Rivera, a 6-foot-4 All-City Section middle blocker from Venice High, has made an oral commitment to attend Cal State Northridge.

Rivera, 16, is projected to play outside hitter for the Matadors. He helped Venice win the City 3-A Division volleyball championship last season.

Rivera also was the center on the school’s basketball team.
