In the Freeway League girls’ finals:
La Habra wins overall title--Sunny Hills won the league meet, but La Habra took the overall league title by virtue of its second-place finish. Sunny Hills finished with 64 points and La Habra had 65.
Buena Park was the regular-season champion but it lost the overall title by finishing fourth Thursday. Fullerton’s Lindsay Amsberry was the meet’s individual champion in 20:12 for three miles.
In the Garden Grove League girls’ finals:
Santiago wins--Amanda Varner ran the three-mile course at Mile Square Park in 20:13 to win the individual title for Rancho Alamitos, which finished second in the team competition to Santiago. Michelle Krenk finished second in 20:20 for Santiago.
In the Garden Grove League boys’ finals:
Santiago wins--Juvenal Herrera won the race, covering the three-mile course at Mile Square Park in 15:40 for Santiago.
In the Freeway League boys’ finals:
La Habra repeats--Led by individual winner Brendan Mahon, La Habra--the regular season champion--easily defended its title at the league meet at Craig Park.
