OCEANSIDE : Man Struck by Car on I-5’s Fast Lane
A man who was hit by a car after running into the fast lane of Interstate 5 near Oceanside on Thursday morning clung to life in critical condition into the night, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Pablo Sahagun, 28, of Inglewood dashed into the fast lane from a grove of trees in the center divider of the freeway about 2 miles north of Harbor Drive, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said. Sahagun was hit by a car traveling north at 60 m.p.h., and was taken by Life Flight helicopter to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, spokesman Jerry Bohrer said.
The driver of the car that struck Sahagun was not cited, Bohrer said.
