Fillmore : Teen-Ager Arrested in Stabbing of Man
Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 17-year-old man in connection with a stabbing in Fillmore that left another man hosptialized, a department spokesman said Thursday.
Sergio O. Negrete, 20, of Fillmore was listed in stable condition, a Santa Paula Memorial Hospital official said. He had been stabbed in the chest.
The incident occurred Wednesday in the 200 block of Palm Street about 7 p.m. Officials said Negrete and the juvenile were involved in a fight. Witnesses pointed out the suspect to dupties when they arrive.
Rene Rodriquez, 18, of Fillmore, who allegedly struck a firefighter who was giving first aid to Negrete, was arrested on suspicion of battery. Rodriquez was booked into Ventura County Jail, and the juvenile was taken to Juvenile Hall.
