La Salle 22, St. Genevieve 14--The Lancers kept the ball on the ground for most of the game at Birmingham High and pounded out their first win.
Senior tailback Rick Perez led the way for La Salle (1-7, 1-2), carrying 25 times for 164 yards and two touchdowns. The Valiants (0-8, 0-3) took an 8-7 lead late in the second quarter when senior Jeremy Iaccino returned a punt 64 yards for a touchdown.
