SOUTHLAND ROUNDUP : Reyna, La Verne Pass Occidental

Willie Reyna threw two of his three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter as La Verne rallied with 21 points to beat Occidental, 31-21, Saturday in an SCIAC game at La Verne.

Reyna completed 23 of 41 passes for 246 yards for La Verne, 5-1-1 overall and 3-1 in the SCIAC. Occidental is 4-3, 4-2.

Sean Cheatham rushed for 267 yards and three touchdowns as Redlands (6-1, 4-0) rolled to a 56-24 SCIAC victory over Cal Lutheran (3-4, 2-1) at Redlands. . . . Michael Bennett threw three touchdown passes and San Diego (6-2-1) won, 33-28, at Whittier. Josh Spitzen passed for 276 yards and three scores for the Poets (4-4). . . . David Stainbrook threw for 224 yards and three touchdowns to lead Cal Poly SLO to a 40-14 victory at Santa Clara (4-4). . . . Zed Robinson ran for two touchdowns and Southern Utah (5-4, 2-1) scored a 49-20 Western Football Conference victory over Cal State Northridge (4-4, 1-1) at Cedar City, Utah.
