Police Identify Costa Mesa Stabbing Suspect
COSTA MESA — Police on Saturday identified a man they suspect stabbed his neighbor to death during a street fight earlier this week.
“Community cooperation” led to the identification of Armando (Chili) Reynoso Lopez, 23, of Costa Mesa, as a suspect in the stabbing death of Jose Mario Ochoa-Alcantor, said Police Capt. Tom Lazar. Lopez is considered armed and dangerous, Lazar said.
Ochoa-Alcantor was found bleeding to death Wednesday night in the parking lot of a convenience store at 1913 Pomona Ave. Police said he apparently was involved in a fight at 19th Street and Pomona Avenue.
Police do not know of any relationship between Ochoa-Alcantor and Lopez, said Lazar, other than that the two men lived in the same neighborhood.
Anyone with information about Lopez’s whereabouts is asked to call the Costa Mesa Police Department at (714) 754-5255.
