New Frontier: CBS plans to try the science-fiction genre again with “Space Rangers,” which will star Jeff Kaake and Academy Award-winner Linda Hunt and will be set in 2104 at Fort Hope, a remote outpost on the frontier planet Avalon. The series is produced by Trilogy Entertainment Group, which produced “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” and “Backdraft.” There is no air date yet.
