Sneaking Up: In a weekend full of new movie releases, “Sneakers,” Universal’s high-tech thriller in its second week of release, broke the code at the box office again by taking the No. 1 spot with $8.4 million at 2,046 screens, according to early industry estimates. In second place was Disney’s “Captain Ron,” starring Kurt Russell, with $4.8 on 1,414 screens. Next was “Singles,” Cameron Crowe’s latest film, which earned $4.4 million on 1,073 screens. Woody Allen’s much-hyped “Husbands and Wives” earned $3.5 million on 865 screens, and “School Ties” took in $3 million on 595 screens.
