OUTLOOK: Traditionally one of the forces in the Olympic League, the Heralds head into the 1992 season with a potent club that should challenge for the title and perhaps even a Southern Section championship. That gives Caffrey reason to smile. “We have all our skill positions back,” he said. “I’m guardedly optimistic. If we stay healthy, we should be very competitive.” The returners include all-leaguers Mikucki, who caught 25 passes last year, and Meschuk, who ran for 1,275 yards and scored 20 touchdowns. Callahan, who passed for 975 yards and 10 touchdowns in a run-oriented offense, is back and apparently will get to showcase his arm a bit more. “We are going to throw the ball more because (Callahan) had an excellent summer (in passing leagues),” Caffrey said.
