Lillian V. Oppenheimer, 93, who popularized the Japanese paper-folding art of origami in the United States. She started doing origami in 1930 to entertain a daughter who was suffering from meningitis. She founded the Origami Center of America, which led to origami societies in about 30 countries. In New York City on Friday.
