PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Everett Early and Ready to Go
Quarterback Jim Everett reported to camp Sunday a few hours before he was scheduled to arrive and participated in the afternoon practice.
Everett said he came in early to get a quick feel for the changes implemented by Coach Chuck Knox and said he likes the staff’s attention to discipline and the little things on the field.
“I feel more relaxed now than I have probably in four years going into a season--for whatever reasons,” said Everett, who wasn’t supposed to start practicing until this morning. “I just feel good about the season, I feel good about myself.
The Rams had their first on-field tussle Sunday morning. On a play downfield, rookie guard Shawn Harper and second-year defensive tackle David Rocker exchanged a few shots after getting tangled up on the ground. “They say camp doesn’t really begin (until the first fight),” Knox said.
