Recovering Pope Says Mass in Rome Hospital
Associated Press
ROME — Pope John Paul II said Mass on Friday at the hospital where he is recovering from surgery to remove a benign colon tumor.
Doctors said the 72-year-old pontiff continued to recover well from a nearly four-hour operation Wednesday.
The Pope, in a chair, concelebrated Mass in a makeshift chapel next to his hospital room with his secretary, Father Stanislaw Dziwisz--the second day in a row he had said Mass, Italian news agencies reported.
