Fluor Daniel Wins Pact: Fluor Daniel Inc. said Wednesday that it has been awarded a contract by TU Electric, the principal subsidiary of Dallas-based Texas Utilities Co. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
Fluor Daniel, based in Irvine, is the core subsidiary of engineering and construction giant Fluor Corp. Under the new contract, it will design and install an emissions-monitoring system for TU Electric’s fossil-fuel generating stations.
TU Electric, which provides electricity to more than 5 million people across Texas, operates 23 fossil-fuel generating stations. Of those, 19 are fueled by natural gas and oil, and four by coal.
The project is scheduled to begin in early 1993 and continue through late 1994.
