AT&T;, Union to Meet With Mediator: Officials of the giant telecommunications company and its unions will meet Monday in Washington with a federal mediator to discuss the status of their contract talks. The Communications Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers have been negotiating a new three-year contract with AT&T; since March 30. The unions have been working without a contract since May 30. Spokesmen on both sides said the meeting with the mediator is voluntary and does not signal an impasse in negotiations.
