Mercedes-Benz Recalls Four-Door Sedans: Mercedes-Benz of North America said it is recalling 1992 400E four-door sedans because of a misplaced hydraulic line that caused fires in four cars. The auto maker said the fires, which occurred in cars with a traction-control feature, did not result in any injuries or fatalities. Mercedes-Benz said the hydraulic line in the traction-control feature was placed too close to the car’s pre-resistor, which helps control the air-conditioning system. Mercedes-Benz said it notified about 550 owners of 400E models with the traction-control feature. About 250 such vehicles have not been sold yet. Owners can bring the cars to a dealer to be repaired at no charge, or they can have a Mercedes-Benz mechanic come to their home or office to inspect the vehicle and make repairs if needed.
