Disturbed by Story
I find it most disturbing that Beverly Beyer and Ed Rabey managed to write on Jerusalem without once mentioning the indigenous Palestinian people (“Exploring the Old and New Ways in Jerusalem,” May 3). Like most travelogues and all publications of the Israeli government, it seeks to rewrite history. The archeological and religious sites they mention belong to all three monotheistic faiths: Christianity, Judaism and Islam. The foods they mention are exclusively Palestinian. The lodging they recommend is built on razed Palestinian villages taken by force. Yet, the sites, food and lodging were all called “Israeli” throughout the article.
