Laguna Beach’s Gilles Easily Wins to Advance in Kramer Invitational
ESCONDIDO — Graham Gilles of Laguna Beach, the No. 1-seeded player in the boys’ 18 division of the Jack Kramer Invitational, defeated Benjamin Traub of Wilton Manors, Fla., 6-1, 6-3, in Saturday’s opening round at Canyon Hills Racquet club.
Gilles plays Bryan Junio of Cerritos in today’s second round.
David Roditi of San Clemente also moved into the second round with a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Mark Bommelje of Orlando, Fla.
In the boys’ 16 division, Kevin Kim of Fullerton lost to Robert Tedesco of Locust Valley, N.Y., 6-1, 6-2.
