‘Moral Midgets’ Just Create Havoc

Re “A Town Stands Fast” on May 5 (Operation Goliath anti-abortion protesters mount ongoing demonstrations in the small village of Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.): Just who are these moral midgets that they can crash unannounced into a quiet community and create havoc?

If these invading self-righteous nincompoops really cared for people--people as opposed to embryos--they would get their fannies home. They would roll up their sleeves and jump into the messy lives of women (and men) in trouble. They would work in family-planning clinics, advising women of their options, helping poor mothers-to-be find jobs, counseling unwed pregnant teens and finding homes for unwanted babies of all colors and conditions of health.

But no, it’s so much easier to just go somewhere and parade up and down and disrupt lives. Heaven forbid they get involved. Heaven forbid they become part of the solution.
