PREP NOTES
Four local high school athletes have signed college letters of intent.
Ryan Ott, shortstop on the Brea-Olinda baseball team, has signed with Loyola Marymount. A second-team All-Orange League selection last season, Ott made an oral commitment in December and will receive a scholarship that will pay for 85% of expenses, Ott said.
Jeff Marsdan, a senior at San Clemente, has signed to play tennis at Montana, his father, Roger, said.
Marsdan has been on the varsity for four seasons. Last year, he was part of the Tritons’ No. 1 doubles team. This year, he is the No. 3 singles player.
Nichole Raimann, a catcher at Santa Margarita, has signed with La Salle, where she will play softball and compete as a walk-on in volleyball.
Raimann was a three-year starter at first base for the Eagles and made a successful transition to catcher this season.
Cheryl Dunmeyer, a shortstop at San Clemente, has signed a letter of intent to attend Georgia State University in Atlanta on a softball scholarship.
Dunmeyer leads the Tritons this season in batting with a .396 average and runs batted in with 18. She was an All-South Coast League selection in 1991.
