Pitchers Nicola Walsh and Wendy Polnasek combined on a one-hitter and Rosary’s softball team ended the game by turning a triple play to clinch third place in the Angelus League with a 4-0 victory over St. Joseph Thursday at Rosary.

Walsh, who allowed only a second-inning double, helped Rosary (10-8, 4-3) clinch a playoff berth.

The triple play came in the seventh inning, after second baseman Tricia Kay caught a line drive with runners on first and second. She threw to first baseman Geneva Sportsman, who doubled off the runner and then threw to shortstop Kristina Luna, who recorded the final out at second.
