In Garden Grove League baseball:

Los Amigos 2, Pacifica 0--Mark Dillon pitched a two-hitter and scored the only run he needed in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Karl Eidlhuber as host Los Amigos (4-13, 4-8)upset Pacifica (13-11, 6-6).

In the Garden Grove League boys’ swimming finals:

Kennedy wins--Calvin Weis broke a 15-year-old meet record in the 100 freestyle and also won the 100 butterfly as the Fighting Irish took the title at Golden West College. Weis was timed in 47.23 seconds, bettering the 47.46 mark set by Bryon Sims of Rancho Alamitos in 1977.

In the Garden Grove League girls’ swimming finals:

La Quinta wins--Kennedy needed only to finish the 400 freestyle relay to win the meet, but the Fighting Irish were disqualified and La Quinta won the race, overcoming a 28-point deficit.

Natasha Cohne of Rancho Alamitos swam the 100 backstroke in 1:00.55, breaking her meet record of 1:00.83 she set as a freshman in 1989.

In the Orange League swimming finals:

Brea-Olinda sweeps--Tim Bostrom won the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley to lead Brea to first place in the boys’ meet with 312 points. Valencia finished second with 251.

Amy Clark of Brea won the 50 and 100 freestyles in the girls’ meet to give the Wildcats their 11th consecutive league championship. Brea finished with 393 points, ahead of runner-up Valencia (237).

In the Pacific Coast League golf finals:

Grandy wins--Justin Grandy of Trabuco Hills shot seven-over 151 to win the league championship in a tournament played over two days at San Luis Rey Downs. Trabuco Hills’ Mark Christensen and Estancia’s Paul Hinkle tied for second at 154.

In South Coast League golf:

El Toro 388, San Clemente 425--Brothers Ben and Joe Garner led host El Toro to the victory at the El Toro Marine Base as the Chargers (18-0) finished an undefeated regular season for the first time in the school’s history.

In Orange League individual golf finals:

Woods wins--Western sophomore Tiger Woods won his second consecutive league title with a four-under 196 for 50 holes over three days. John Lee of Valencia was second at 207. In Pacific Coast League boys’ tennis:

Laguna Beach 11, Laguna Hills 7--Julian Zajfen swept at No. 1 singles for the Artists (13-7, 9-1), who clinched the league title for the second consecutive year. Zajfen has finished undefeated in league play the past two seasons, winning 57 sets without a loss.
