Angel Martinez of San Gabriel ran 4:09.78 for 1,600 meters in the Foohill League finals at Cal State Los Angeles for the fastest time in the nation this year. Eric O’Brien of Atlanta Westminster High had the previous best time with a 4:10.17 in the Florida Relays.
