KING CASE AFTERMATH: READERS RESPOND : More Than Just Bigotry

Why does it have to be assumed that racism was the major issue in this case? Who’s to say the officers wouldn’t have reacted the same way to a white man acting the same way?

Beyond that videotape, emblazoned in everyone’s mind, most of us are unaware of the other facts of the case. Most people want this to to be only a case of white against black; of haves against have-nots.
