CLU Splits With Redlands, Keeps 1-Game Lead in Softball
The Cal Lutheran softball team hung on to its one-game lead over visiting Redlands on Wednesday by splitting a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader with the Bulldogs.
The Regals (27-13, 18-4 in conference play) won the first game, 6-4, then lost, 5-0. Redlands is 24-10, 19-5.
In the first game, the Regals trailed, 4-0, after the first inning but scored three runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings. Cal Lutheran’s Stacy Donaldson (17-7) relieved Margie Sievers in the second inning and gave up only one hit and struck out 11.
Cal Lutheran’s Laree Reynolds went five for six in the doubleheader.
