Sun Microsystems Taps Apple Employees: Sun Microsystems has hired away at least four Apple Computer Inc. experts in an effort to make its powerful desktop computers easier to use. Sun most recently brought in two former Apple experts in human-interface design, which essentially refers to making products easier to use. Robert Glass left Apple several months ago to head the human-interface engineering group of SunSoft, Sun’s software subsidiary. He was joined by Bruce Tognazzini, an expert in the field. Much of Apple’s success with its Macintosh line of personal computers has been attributed to the Cupertino company’s emphasis on ease-of-use.
