CHULA VISTA : Student Argument Leads to Stabbing
An argument between two Chula Vista High School students escalated into a knife fight Tuesday that sent a student to the hospital with a collapsed lung, police said.
The fight broke out at about 2:30 p.m. between two students who attend the school’s special education program, Chula Vista police said. An 18-year-old mentally handicapped student stabbed a 17-year-old hearing impaired student in his, lung causing it to collapse, according to police.
The boy’s lung was reinflated at Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, police said. The 18-year-old was transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital in Chula Vista where he was treated for an eye laceration he received during the fight.
Police declined to release the names of the two students.
