Arnett Forces an Issue

The Persian Gulf War brought fame and fortune to (CNN’s) Peter Arnett (TV Times, Jan. 12), so, of course, he remembers it fondly. However, someone should tell him that there are a great many of us who believe it should never have been fought; it was not won by any sense, least of all by the United States, and in no way did it leave “everyone here with a positive feeling about the use of force ... for a good cause.”
