Workshops in Performing Arts Will Begin Monday
The West Coast Performing Arts Invitational (formerly the Laguna Beach Dance Invitational) will offer five workshops for dancers, actors, singers and musicians, Monday through Aug. 16 at the West Coast Performing Arts Center, 23581 Madero, Suite 201, Mission Viejo.
The first dance workshop will be led by Emmy Award-winner Donald McKayle this Monday through Friday. The cost is $75. Subsequent ones will be conducted by Sally Hess of New York, July 15-19 ($60), and Invitational founder Mark Sharon, Aug. 12-14 ($40).
Gwenda Deacon, an actor from Los Angeles, will lead a drama workshop Aug. 5-9 ($60). Carver Cossey, a member of the Los Angeles-based Albert McNeil Jubilee Singers, will conduct a vocal and music workshop Aug. 15 and 16 ($60).
The final day of each workshop will include an 8 p.m. program, free and open to the public, at the Mission Viejo studios.
