West Hollywood : Folk Festival Planned
The West Hollywood Folk Festival will be held Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. in Plummer Park, bringing together music, dance, photography and art from around the world.
Folk musician Ronnie Gilbert, who was in the ‘50s group the Weavers, will headline the day’s events. There also will be musical performances by some of Southern California’s most popular folk groups, including the Ellis Island Klezmer Band, Huayucaltia and Quetzalcoatl.
International folk dance instructor Mario Casetta will demonstrate dances, and the Mexican dance troupe Xipe Totec will perform traditional Aztec dances.
Admission is free. Plummer Park is at 7377 Santa Monica Blvd.
