Beverly Hills : Mankiewicz to Be Honored

Oscar-winning director and producer Joseph L. Mankiewicz will be honored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at a special tribute May 6 at the academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.

Mankiewicz, who won Academy Awards for writing and directing such films as “A Letter to Three Wives” and “All About Eve” will discuss his work at a ceremony that will include excerpts from some of his most famous films. Several stars who appeared in his films, including Elizabeth Taylor, Michael Caine and Burgess Meredith, are also scheduled to appear.
