CS Northridge Signs Tight End From Sacramento City College

In an attempt to fill the void created when backup tight end Scott Harper transferred to Oral Roberts, Cal State Northridge signed Sacramento City College tight end David Clark to a national letter of intent.

Clark (6-foot-6, 240-pounds), a sophomore, signed last month, but his paperwork was not completed until Thursday.

In Sacramento’s double tight end formation, Clark was used primarily for blocking, but Northridge assistant coach Pat Degnan believes he can catch as well.

“I saw him catch six passes on film,” Degnan said. “That was enough for me. He is a big strong blocker and he can get open. His best stats are that he is 6-6, 240.”

Harper, who backed up George Fua last season, is pursuing a career as a minster at Oral Roberts, according to Degnan.

Until Clark signed, Fua’s only backup was Troy Aldrich, a 6-3, 215-pounder from Canyon High who will be a freshman next season. Aldrich caught 35 passes for 538 yards for the Cowboys last season.
