Hawkins to Keep O.C. Dance Date

Choreographer Erick Hawkins’ hospitalization for exhaustion in New York this week is not expected to prevent him from performing in Orange County later this month as scheduled, according to composer Lucia Dlugoszewski, Hawkins’ longtime collaborator.

The 82-year-old modern dance pioneer became fatigued after preparing two new works for his recently concluded New York season, but now is home from the hospital, she said. Hawkins and his troupe are slated to appear at the Orange County Performing Arts Center on April 24 and 25 as part of the Imagination Celebration.
