Good Students to Be Rewarded With Jackets
Seniors with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher will be presented with Westchester High School academic jackets at a special ceremony sponsored by the Academic Booster Club at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the high school auditorium, 7400 W. Manchester Ave.
The booster club launched the jacket program in 1984, only the third such program in the Los Angeles Unified School District. The organization is composed of representatives of local businesses and organizations, as well as parents and teachers.
Edward (Chip) Anderson of the UCLA Graduate School of Education will be keynote speaker for the program. Also participating will be Eileen Banta, high school principal.
