Authorities Launch Search for Inmate Missing From County Jail Work Crew
Authorities were looking Saturday for a 31-year-old minimum-security inmate who apparently walked away from an inmate work crew at the Orange County Jail.
Kevin Gary Hutchings had been performing custodial work before he was discovered missing about 8 a.m. from the jail at 550 N. Flower St. in Santa Ana, Sheriff’s Lt. Herold Schaffroth said.
Hutchings, who is also known as Kevin Brodie or Kevin Bradfield, was serving a 90-day sentence for a narcotics violation and was scheduled to be released in August. He is not considered dangerous, Schaffroth said.
Hutchings is described as 6 feet tall, weighing 150 pounds and having blond hair and blue eyes. He had been wearing blue jeans.
