Hutton Development Co. has announced plans to build a $150-million hotel, office and retail complex in the 2000 block of East 1st Street in Santa Ana.
The 17.9-acre project, known as Park Centre, would include 1 million square feet of office space, a 225-room hotel, and 15,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space. An existing building already on the site would be incorporated into the new project, said Christopher Felix, Hutton’s president.
Hutton officials are working with the redevelopment agency to design a complex that would meet the agency’s criteria for various types of amenities. The project would include day-care facilities and extensive use of art in public places, Felix said.
Costa Mesa-based McLarand, Vasquez & Partners has been selected to handle design duties. Construction is expected to begin this fall, with completion expected is about seven years.
