The families of three teen-agers killed in a traffic accident in which Reggie Rogers of the Detroit Lions was injured have sued the defensive lineman and a bar.
The suit was filed in Oakland County Circuit Court by the families of Kenneth Willett, 19, of Drayton Plains, Mich., and his two cousins, Kelley Ess, 18, and Dale Ess, 17, both of Versailles, Mo.
The three were killed Oct. 20 when the Jeep Rogers was driving rammed their car in Pontiac, Mich., police reports said.
Rogers, who suffered a broken neck, was arraigned on 3 counts of involuntary manslaughter and is free on $10,000 personal bond. A preliminary examination is set for Dec. 1.
The suit, which seeks more than $10,000 in damages, also names as a defendant Big Art’s Paradise Lounge in Pontiac, where Rogers allegedly was drinking before the accident.
