Chaplin’s Oeuvre
The Nov. 14 Morning Report item about a movie being made on Charlie Chaplin’s life says Chaplin “made over 100 films.” Actually, Chaplin made (acted in and/or directed) precisely 81 films (shorts and features included), plus two or three World War I U.S. government propaganda shorts.
Chaplin’s career is almost excessively well documented, and there are many books that list his complete filmography. Doesn’t The Times library have a collection of basic reference books on film? Can’t your writers spend five minutes using a book to check their facts?
