Robert Hines tested positive for lidocaine, a painkilling drug, after winning the International Boxing Federation junior middleweight title from Matthew Hilton, boxing officials said in Las Vegas.
Another fighter on the card, James Kinchen, also testified positive for lidocaine after losing his 12-round fight to Thomas Hearns.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission has set a tentative Dec. 16 hearing to decide what action, if any, to take against Hines and Kinchen.
