A record World Series players’ pool of $11,969,881 has yielded record shares to the Dodgers and the Oakland Athletics.
The champion Dodgers were each awarded a full share of $108,664.88, which surpassed the previous record of $86,254 won by the New York Mets in 1986. The Athletics’ share of $86,220.89 also set a record. The previous record--$74,985.65--was set by the Boston Red Sox, also in 1986.
